The name TÉFRA comes from the Greek word for “ashes,” a word chosen when our first formulations began with traditional handmade bar soap. In the earliest forms of soap-making, ashes, water, and fat were transformed into something cleansing and useful. What began as a humble, elemental process became the foundation for a brand built around renewal, restoration, and the connection to truths that are beyond skin-deep.
That symbolism still shapes everything we create.
Ashes, water, and fat were not only the original triad of soap-making; they were also present throughout the ancient sacrificial altars — fire and ash, water for washing, and the fat of the offering. To me, this is a beautiful picture of how God has woven meaning into creation itself.
